Hilary Kingman & Keri Carlton
In this class students work with a partner in a number of dynamic ways that range from breathing in unison, partner stretching, therapeutic touch, and flying yoga. Flying yoga includes therapeutic and more acrobatic flying, with the use of spotters, a base and a flyer. At first students will work with one partner to stretch together and warm up for a more energetic flying experience. Students will learn how to base, fly and spot beginning level flying poses and more intermediate level acrobatic flying.
Hilary & Keri
Hilary has been a certified yoga teacher for over 5 years and taught regular Acro Yoga classes in Kauai before moving to Orcas Island. She has a passion for movement, awareness, healing and playfulness. Through her classes, she artfully weaves her wisdom of the body into the teachings of therapeutic touch, breath work and partner stretching, giving students a strong foundation in how to consciously work with themselves and others in a playful, healing environment. With a background in massage and yoga, she has a deep passion for working with others to bring about greater harmony, health and balance.
Keri's yoga practice has been evolving over the past ten years of her life, but her journey of teaching began in May of 2012 after receiving her 200 hour certification with Snow Creek Yoga. Her classes are inspired by Prana Flow created by Shiva Rea, whom she continues to study with. Keri also teaches a form of aerial yoga called Aerial Yoga Play, which utilizes a yoga swing and incorporates timeless strengthening, acrobatics, therapeutic movements and meditation. She started a company called Northwest Yoga Play and teaches in Leavenworth, Seattle and Wenatchee. Aerial Yoga Play creates traction in the spine, stimulation for the lymphatic, circulatory, and endocrine systems, and our minds experience a shift as we inquire from a new perspective.
