Hatha & Kundalini Yoga with Signa Enjoy an incredible inspired by Hatha Iyengar and Kundalini Yoga styles. In this class Signa artfully combines standing postures, pranayama & mantra to open spine, shoulders, neck & hips, release stress & deepen body-mind connections. Class is done standing and uses the sand as a powerful prop to access postures in new ways. Practice includes flowing movements, asana holds, breath work (come with an empty belly for deeper experience), balance and strengthening postures, and mantra mind focus.
Gong Meditation: Journey with the Sound Current Join Signa and Curtis for all levels Kundalini Yoga, singing of sacred mantras and a healing gong bath. Feel sacred sound move within you and all around you. Connect with your breath, body and thoughts as vibrational frequencies, and surrender into primal vibrations of the Cosmos. It is taught that all sounds of the Universe are within gong, and that gong vibrations resonate healing within us for many days afterwards. Gong vibrates at the same frequency as our body's natural healing state and opens our capacity for self-healing. Gong vibrations nourish and strengthen deep body systems, support the release of emotional energy tied to past traumas and body memories, and guide us back home, into the essence of ourselves.
Teaching yoga since 1989, Signa's journey began with the Hatha Iyengar lineage and teacher Gayna Uransky, and continued with many years of Ashtanga, Vinyasa and Kundalini Yoga. Signa is the owner of Mandala Yoga Studio in SE Portland, and enjoys helping people experience yoga as a personal and individual path. Signa considers her own practice a sacred ritual and is passionate about mantra, pranayama, gong and the uses of sound current in yoga practice. Her classes offer a depth of understanding and connection to various lineages, a love of music and sound healing, as well as the experience of years of personal practice and devotion to the path of yoga.
